the rooms were spotlessly clean and huge and view on the lake was astonishing. the bed was comfortable, we loved it. location: the hotel was just next door to most restaurants and lake toba.
Unfortunately Wi-Fi signal was very weak.

The twin room we stayed in at Gokhon Guest House was simply amazing. It had a cozy seating area where we could relax and enjoy the view from our balcony. The tile/marble floor added a touch of elegance to the room, making it feel extra special. The private bathroom was also a great convenience for our family.
Honestly, the only downside was that the triple room didn't have an electric kettle. But hey, that's just my personal preference.

Loved the "private beach area" - more like a postage stamp of sand, but hey, it's private! And the "garden" was so tiny, it's like having my own potted plant collection. The "free private parking" was a joy - took me only 100 maneuvers to fit my car in the space.
Who needs Wi-Fi? Not me! It's not like I'm here to relax or anything.

We had an amazing New Year experience at this budget guest house. the owner and staff were super friendly and helpful, ensuring that all our requests were fulfilled. the location was perfect, with a good restaurant just a short walk away and many famous restaurants nearby. the view from our room was absolutely breathtaking, allowing us to relax and soak in the serene environment. the staff also provided us with convenient transportation options, making it easy for us to explore the surrounding areas.
While our stay was overall wonderful, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. the construction project next to our balcony could be a bit noisy at times, serving as an unexpected wake-up call.

The twin room at Gokhon Guest House was cozy and comfortable with a nice balcony where I could unwind after a long day of exploring. The room had a relaxing seating area and the tile/marble floor added a touch of elegance. It felt like my little sanctuary during my stay.
Personally, I found the electric kettle in the triple room to be unnecessary, but hey, that's just me!

I had the most relaxing stay at Gokhon Guest House! The rooms were clean and comfortable, with amazing views over the lake. I loved being able to swim right in front of the property. The owner even cooked us a delicious breakfast and lunch. Although there is some construction nearby and the check-in area isn't well-labeled, it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing stay.

I absolutely adored the cozy and charming decoration of the guest house. The traditional Indonesian elements added a unique touch and made me feel right at home. The comfortable seating areas in the common spaces were perfect for relaxing and enjoying the stunning view of the lake. As a senior woman, I greatly appreciated the easy accessibility of the hotel. The staff was always attentive and helpful, ensuring that I had a pleasant and hassle-free stay.
The only improvement I would suggest for a better vacation for senior people is to have grab bars in the bathrooms. This small addition would provide extra support and safety, especially when getting in and out of the shower.

I had a fantastic stay at this guesthouse. The location is stunning, right by the lake, and it's easy to find. The staff, Andre and his younger brother, were incredibly friendly and made my stay enjoyable. The scooter rentals were affordable, with the option to rent for a day or an hour, and they even provided helmets for safety. The room was clean and comfortable, with a fan to keep cool. The hotel also had a library where I could pray after checking out. I was very pleased with my experience here.
Nothing could have been better.

I had an amazing experience staying at Gokhon Guest House in Tuk Tuk! the service was fantastic - the owners were welcoming, friendly, and provided lots of useful information. the guesthouse had a beautiful setting with a stunning view of Lake Toba. the rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, and I had a peaceful night's sleep with the soothing sounds of the lake. I appreciated the option to rent a scooter and utilize the convenient laundry service. Cons: Not obvious to find. 😕.

The decoration at Gokhon Guest House was simply charming. The cozy and traditional ambiance made me feel right at home. The beautiful flowers and local artwork in the general areas added a lovely touch. the hotel's design was very senior-friendly, with easy accessibility throughout the property. It was a relief to navigate the hallways and common spaces with ease, even at my age.
I would have appreciated a small elevator or handrails in the stairways to ensure a safer vacation for senior people. The children working there were incredibly helpful, but having these additional features would have provided extra comfort during my stay.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
